Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos has returned to Ligue 1 club Strasbourg on a loan deal for the 2024-25 campaign. The French club are owned by BlueCo, the multi-club ownership group which also controls Chelsea. Santos, a Brazilian player who has been capped once by his country, will be going back to Strasbourg for a second spell after spending the second half of the 2023-24 season at the French side. He initially joined Chelsea in January 2023 from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama in a deal worth £18 million ($22.8m). Santos had a loan spell at Nottingham Forest in the first half of last season, but only played seven minutes of Premier League action for the club. Chelsea recalled him in January before loaning him to Strasbourg, where he scored one goal in 11 appearances. Strasbourg finished 13th in Ligue 1 last season and changed their manager over the summer, replacing Patrick Vieira with Liam Rosenior.
